PROFESSIONAL NUMISMATIST FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS

I am a professional numismatist specializing in world coins from the period of about 1500 to about 1950. I started in business in 1969 when my first fixed price list was published. Since then I have published more than 140 price lists, until the past few years when I started doing internet business, including ebay. (My ebay name is jeffone). Throughout the years, I have attempted to handle coins with a historical interest, and have specialized in the following areas: 

ITALY from about 1800 to 1950

THE NETHERLANDS from about 1500-1950

GERMANY from about 1500 to 1950

SIEGE AND OBSIDIONAL ISSUES from about 1500-1800

I have always had a liking to the historical coins of the period before 1800, My logo is a siege coin issued for the city of Leyden (The Netherlands), while they were under siege by the Spanish in 1574. This is a hand made square (or klippe) coin, hence the name of my domain, klippes.com. Klippe coins were generally made while a city was under siege for everyday commerce. They are generally square or diamond shaped and were usually made only for that purpose. However, some klippes were made as a regular issue, such as the many issues of the city of Salzburg in Austria, where klippe coin were made in silver and gold for many centuries.
